Stride.VC

Stride.VC, a venture capital firm dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs, had previously created their very first workplace in London with HOP. After just over a year within their new space, their business had changed, and their space needed to change with them.

Stride.VC operates multiple investment funds, each requiring flexible office space. To accommodate one of these funds, they needed to restructure the space while ensuring seamless integration and maintaining collaboration across teams.

Most importantly, Stride.VC didn’t want the redesign to feel like a redesign; but to feel like a part of the original fit-out.

HOP Works’ and HOP’s ongoing relationship with Stride.VC ensured a seamless transition between the original fit-out and adaptations.

Occupying three floors at 4 Grotto Passage, we decided to reconsolidate the working spaces to accommodate both teams with separate private working areas, and joint areas to encourage collaboration.

The ground floor was initially designed as an open event and lounge area, and in practise was underutilised. We decided to adapt the floor to create a new office for the Stride.VC team, while maintaining its event and welcome functionality.

We redesigned the floor with the addition of a corner office integrated into the open space. Tucked away enough to provide privacy when needed, but still flowing into the open spaces, its thoughtful positioning enhances connectivity for visitors and team members alike.

We adapted the space to make it a functional work environment while preserving its flexibility for events. Adding Crittall slab-to-slab glazing allowed us to improve acoustics while maintaining an open feel. A solid timber sliding door was added to complement the aesthetic and enhance spatial efficiency.

With the help of OW-N Furniture, Vitra Joyn desks were introduced, creating a centralised collaboration area without overcrowding or compromising aesthetics.
