Skyscanner’s office had a couple of semi open drop-in spaces that weren’t being used as intended due to lack of privacy. This in turn meant larger meeting rooms were regularly being booked up by smaller meetings and calls.
HOP Works was asked to help rebalance this by transforming the drop-ins into enclosed meeting rooms, creating spaces that allow teams to work more effectively day-to-day.
As the original areas featured curtains instead of walls, privacy was limited to visual separation only. We focused on improving acoustic performance while carefully coordinating works in a busy, fully operational office.
Delivered out of hours and over a two-week programme, we installed new walls, curved double-glazed partitions, doors, and high-performance acoustic treatments.
We ensured the rooms were seamlessly integrated, designed to appear as if they had been part of the original fit-out. We achieved this by reusing existing furniture to maintain continuity. We also carried out sprinkler modifications to ensure full building compliance.
The impact
The result is a more efficient meeting room mix that frees up larger rooms and supports more focused, effective conversations across the workplace. The completed meeting rooms blend flawlessly with the existing office, providing functional, private spaces without compromising design integrity.
