Our client, a global investment management company, was looking to create their first, fully-designed London home to help with the transition of returning to the office and to proudly welcome high-profile clients. Working with KEMSI, a luxury interior design company, we set about creating a home-from-home office to provide staff with privacy when needed, alongside opportunities for impromptu meetings and collaboration.
We developed a thoughtful spatial design in harmony with their day to day needs. We took a Cat A blank canvas space and created distinct zones for both privacy and collaboration. The floor layout centres around a focal island which divides the space between the work and social zone; the island acting as an open meeting space, breakout area, and reception to fully utilise the space.
The concept designs focused on a material and colour palette to create a residential warmth. We worked closely with KEMSI to ensure the final design was functional as well as beautiful. We paired natural stones, timber, and glass with softening carpets, curtains, and furniture, matching the design aesthetic but also improving the acoustics.
The impact
The result is an elegant and timeless office that supports form and functionality. Using bold, clean and simple elements, the new office space is a home away from home for their small team, creating opportunities for collaboration and focus to happen in harmony. The space now exudes professionalism for the team to proudly welcome visitors, creating the right first impression and elevating their brand.
